Frome Chamber of Commerce

Frome Chamber is running another series of the successful Discuss and Do events over the first half of 2013. Developing from last year’s events these feature keynote speakers who can talk about their real experience of what works, together with practical workshops that help you apply their lessons to your business. This year’s events are run in partnership with Forwardspace/The Old Church School. For more details see http://discussanddo.co.uk/ or Events.

As an active member of the Mendip Association of Chambers of Commerce, Somerset Chamber and the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce we benefit from being part of these three established organisations that between them represent many businesses in the region.

Aims for Frome chamber for the next 12 months:

  • Do things that make Frome a better place to do business and to live
  • Make sure that the good news about Frome doesn’t get lost in the negative
  • Engage positively with all initiatives taking place and provide a sensible voice for business in discussions and actions
  • Work with other organisations to encourage and support them to do the right thing for business, including Frome Town Council, Mendip District Council, Somerset County Council and local organisations such as Rotary
  • Improve chamber communication both with members and with the wider business community
  • Increase our membership, so that we are more representative, especially of younger, less traditional businesses, businesses which are based here but primarily selling outside Frome, and larger companies on Marston and Commerce Park
  • Promote and encourage the commercial, industrial and retail interest of Frome and surrounding area on behalf of its members
